Cornerstone Cellars

About

It was just a bottle shared with friends

Like a lot of grand adventures, the Cornerstone story starts with a conversation between friends over a glass of wine. The result was Cornerstone Cellars, and three decades later, we’re making wines with constancy and classic varietal attributes that manage to be distinctively approachable (and delicious). Our DNA combines old school Napa Valley ease with a welcoming Southern approach to entertaining, and the result is classic Napa wines that make any table and any dinner a little more welcoming and celebratory.

Our Winemaking Philosophy

At Cornerstone Cellars, we take imagination seriously. As such, we aren’t content to be confined to one appellation. Between the Napa Valley, Sonoma, and the Santa Rita Hills, we’re humbled by the world-class quality of our vineyard partners’ fruit. First and foremost, we’re always sensitive to terroir, creating wines that accurately represent the qualities of the region they come from. That being said, we set out to make wines that have familiar qualities but still pleasantly surprise the palate.

Meet Our Team

Great wine always tells a story of experience. The nuances and subtle notes that mark a great wine are rarely accidental: they are there because the winemaker understands the subtleties of process. Our team brings decades of diverse experience in all facets of wine making and hospitality and we think it makes all the difference, both in the quality of our wines and the experience of visiting our tasting lounges. We’re unique people making unique wines. That’s not accidental. To find out more about our initimble team, keep reading.

Welcome to Cornerstone

Led by Dr. Michael Dragutsky, the founders and partners of Cornerstone Cellars remain unwavering in a commitment to only putting the finest wine they can to bottle. From that first vintage, a wine that was accoladed a Top 10 Wine of the Year in Wine Spectator, now has three decades of history. From on the top of Howell Mountain, Michael and his friends have Cornerstone Cellars from those  mountainsides, to the benchlands of Napa Valley, and now out to our neighboring regions of Sonoma and Sta. Rita Hills. We cannot wait to see what the next 30 years brings us.
